Had to share this picture. There's nothing like catching that look of thoughtfulness and wonder, along with the subtle glimpse of contentment that accompanies those moments. "May we all marinate in those times as they come to us, for therein lies inspiration and genius." ~anon

Light has been an interest to all of us at one time or another... Fascination with the sun, light switches, Christmas decorations, fireworks, night lights, and the list goes on and on. We have been using the early sunsets as an opportunity to use the flashlights. It has been fun. What light ideas have inspired you? It's that time of year again. Hard to imagine enjoying wassail in the summer! We made this yesterday and drank it in front of our fireplace with blankets and made short mention of things that made us happy for the day. This morning, parents made comments about how well the children slept last night. I wondered if the warm evening drink had anything to do with it. I remember warm milk or tea being used around bedtime as a child. I wonder if there's any science about that. Well, hope you are having a great day and that you take time to enjoy something warm today. ~ For snack yesterday, we had hummus and fresh organic kale. I loved the response so much I wanted to share. On of the children said, "This is really really good!" Everyone seemed to love it. If you are apprehensive about your child and new veggies, I suggest eating it with them, and sharing your enthusiam for the bountiful goodness that you want them to embrace. Yummy, Kale! The children found this in the garden. It's a rock! Using the information that they have gathered in their lifetime, they agreed that it looked like a meatball. What do you think? I absolutely love how one of our 3 year olds described their teeth. They were sitting at the table eating snack. Plums, raisins, blueberries, and O's when she pensively announced... "We're using our teeth as drills to cut through our food." Had to share these two comments...
